Siccar Point

Following the biggest acquisition in the UK offshore energy industry since crude oil prices crashed two years ago, Siccar Point Energy required to establish an office base for their North Sea Operations in Aberdeen. With stakes in three of the biggest new UK oilfields acquired from OMV and alongside partners including BP, Chevron and Statoil, they needed a base to accommodate finance, operations, subsurface, legal, breakout and variety of meeting space from private one-to-one to boardroom.
The design brief for the fit out of newly refurbished office block “H1” on Hill of Rubislaw, Aberdeen was to provide a cost effective but stylish solution to house the Siccar Point teams in an open plan layout which encouraged collaboration and teamworking. Collaboration space was created with soft furnishings in a dedicated zone with AV connectivity. Private and confidential space was created with “one to one” or “telephone” rooms with sliding glazed acoustic doors and a four-person meeting room with AV connectivity. Boardroom and large meeting rooms were all positioned near the reception and waiting area so as not to break up the operational team space and to maintain confidentiality and prestige feel to client facing areas.
The key messages, history and background of Siccar Point were incorporated in to a series of wall graphics applied to the partition walls and room identification was applied to the internal glazing manifestations. This provided both an aesthetically pleasing talking point for visitors and a practical means of identifying rooms for booking purposes.
The colour scheme for flooring and partition finishes were also carefully chosen by our interior designers to emphasise the different zones in the space, and to produce a vivid colour scheme around the breakout, copy print and meeting spaces.
The finished office space accommodates 47 staff on open plan, with a generous canteen and breakout space, as well as a conference and meeting space to accommodate 48 with collaboration and private space.
The project construction works were carried out by our experts here at Transform, utilising the full range of our group construction services. We self-delivered the decoration, plumbing and joiner work including kitchens and tea-preps, and installed the feature glazed partitioning with our in-house glazing specialists Modul8.
The wide range of floor finishes were installed by General & Technical,  and the solar shading of the external windows was carried out by the team at Blind Solutions.
To complete the “turnkey” project, our move management brand Corporate Moves completed the personnel and furniture moves to provide a new work environment ready for occupation by this prestigious new client.
