Pure Gym

As part of their UK expansion strategy Pure Gym planned to open 30 gyms take its total up to 90. They planned to increase their total to 19 in Scotland, so embarked on an ambitious site acquisition and refurbishment programme to add 10 Gyms in Scotland over a period of 18 months. Each of the properties acquired were completely different and varied between newly built retail units to dilapidated and near derelict buildings. Our role was to carry out the works required by the Landlords of each property followed by a standardised specification of fit out for Pure Gym to provide a uniformly branded look to each new Gym. As a result each project had its own unique challenges for example the Aberdeen project was in a brand new retail unit, but it required a whole new mezzanine floor level installed to maximise the available height in the unit, whereas at Glasgow Charing Cross we had to replace the glass frontage of the building. The results in each location give the Pure Gym brand a strong presence in the Scottish market, maximise the potential from each of the buildings acquired, and have enabled them to achieve their expansion plan.

Following the Landlords building fabric works, the fit outs involved all of Transform’s multi-trade capability – joiner work, ceilings, electrical, data, floorcoverings, partitions and doors, air-conditioning, plumbing and decoration all supervised and managed by our inhouse project management team. In addition we installed lifts and installed all the changing room lockers and benches along with the IPS and Vanity units in the washrooms. The programmes were all Pure Gym fast track to enable them to open the new facilities as soon as possible in a competitive market, in line with their roll out programme, and we delivered each project on time to enable this to happen.
