Ashley Road School Toilet & Nursery Refurbishment
Aberdeen City Council required an upgrade to the Ashley Road School Washroom and Nursery facilities and put the work scope out to competitive tender. The works comprised the removal of asbestos containing materials identified in the Asbestos Survey report; the removal of existing sanitary ware and toilet cubicles; the supply and installation of new sanitary ware; integrated plumbing system (IPS) wall paneling; toilet cubicles; laminated plastic veneered wall lining; doors with ironmongery; floor coverings; suspended ceiling installations; internal decoration work; hot and cold water; mechanical ventilation and a new low temperature hot water heating system including boiler replacement to the Nursery building and electrical installations to both the Primary School and Nursery. All works were to be carried out over the summer shutdown.
The refurbishment works involved all of Transform’s multi-trade capability – joiner work, ceilings, electrical, data, floorcoverings, plumbing and decoration all supervised and managed by our in-house project management team. Carrying out washroom refurbishment is complex due to the number of trades involved and the exact sequencing required to ensure that a high standard of finish is achieved. We are accustomed to the intensity and detailed programming required to ensure that every step of the works is completed to the highest possible standard before the next step is taken. It is this attention to detail that makes all the difference particularly when we are working in a relatively small spaces. The finished jobs both in the Nursery and the Washrooms have turned out extremely well, and will provide appealing and durable facilities for years to come.
“I am writing to express my gratitude for all the hard work and the effort that the Transform team had put towards finishing the project at the Ashley Road School and Nursery. I am delighted to say that both the toilets and the nursery are already being appreciated by the users and the client. I would like to say special thanks to Kevin Brown and Paul Heggan, who have been most helpful throughout the duration of the project. I felt that I can trust the people in charge to provide me with a good, reliable service without my constant supervision. I can only say that working with Transform in the future, based on this particular experience, would be a pleasure and I can highly recommend your staff for the professional approach, patience and their problem solving skills.
