Project Overview
As part of their UK expansion strategy, Pure Gym embarked on an ambitious site acquisition and refurbishment programme to add 10 gyms in Scotland over a period of 18 months, taking its total number of gyms in Scotland up to 19 and its grand total of gyms in the UK up to 90.
The acquired properties varied from newly built retail units to dilapidated, near-derelict, buildings. Our role in the project was to carry out the works required by the landlords of each property in the first instance, followed by a standardised specification of fit-out for Pure Gym to provide a uniformly branded look to each new gym.
Our fit-out works involved all of Transform’s multi-trade capability – joiner work, ceilings, electrical, data, floorcoverings, partitions and doors, air-conditioning, plumbing, decoration – all supervised and managed by our inhouse project management team. In addition we installed lifts, changing room lockers and benches, and IPS and vanity units in the washrooms.
Because of the varying condition and requirements of the buildings, each project had its own unique challenges. Our tailored approach to maximising each project’s potential resulted in a strong brand presence for Pure Gym in the Scottish market and allowed them to realise their expansion plan.
