Project Overview

Chrysaor occupied 48,000 sq. ft of new office space at Aberdeen’s iconic former cinema redevelopment The Capitol by Knight Property Group and M&G Real Estate.

Having acquired a package of Shell UK assets, they required a flagship operations headquarters to accommodate some 300 staff fitted out with strong brand identity, excellent teamworking and collaboration space, cellular and open plan offices, and associated meeting rooms.

This was a joint project with our partner divisions across Space Solutions, utilising a comprehensive range of in-house services including SPACE for Space Planning, Interior Design, Architectural Technician, and Principal Designer, Transform as Principal Contractor, Blind Solutions as blinds contractor, General & Technical as flooring contractor with Corporate Moves installing the furniture and moving the Chrysaor team. The project was carried out in an incredibly tight 15-week programme and was handed over on time. This represents an excellent example of the full strength of our group and supply chain and demonstrates our unique ability to bring close teamworking and collaboration to a complex and challenging brief and deliver a great result.

As principal contractor on this ambitious and fast-track project, we utilised our own trades and sub-contractors to successfully deliver the project. One of the big technical challenges for Transform during the short duration programme was the introduction of a feature link internal staircase between levels 2 and 3. This was achieved with structural steelwork and steel staircase by MDK Fabrications and the result is an excellent architectural feature as well as a practical aid to the flow of movement around the office . We were pleased to have handed over this extensive fit-out on time and are delighted with the completed project in what is one of the most iconic and stunning office buildings in Aberdeen.
